Many e-commerce websites showcase featured products or best selling products on the homepage of their websites. They tend to promote products that are new in stock, collections just launched, or products or collections which have a sale.
In general, the business owner also has the ability to choose which products to display and also restrict the number of products to display as featured / best selling
Steps to create featured products:
- Login to your BigCommerce store
- Navigate to the Products section and click on view
- The featured column is the column which has blanks stars marked under it and it appears on the left-hand side of the Action column
- To enable the featured product’s status, please check mark the star and it will now appear in blue
- If you want to remove the featured product, all you need to do it uncheck the star mark again and the product will not appear in the list of featured or best-selling products again
How to control the number of featured products to be displayed on the BigCommerce store?
This process depends on what theme platform is you’re online store working on. Is it stencil or stencil or blueprint?
For online stores using the blueprint theme platform, here are the steps to control the number of featured products for your BigCommerce store:
- Login to your BigCommerce store
- Navigate to store setup and go to store settings and select the display settings option
- Input the number of featured products or best selling products you’d like to display and save changes
For online stores using the stencil theme platform, here are the steps to control the number of featured products for your BigCommerce store:
- Login to your BigCommerce store
- Navigate to the storefront design section, go to my themes and select the customise option
- Click on the products section of the left-hand side panel and once expanded, enter the number of featured products / best selling products that you want to display
- Once complete, save changes
