There are various ways that you can set up free shipping choices from the Shipping settings page in your Shopify admin. Offering free shipping choices can be very helpful in your general shipping strategy. You can offer free shipping or discounted shipping choices to your clients in these different ways:
- Cost based rates
- Weight-based rates
- Free shipping codes

How to offer free shipping over a fixed amount
To offer free shipping for orders over a set amount, please follow these steps:
- From your Shopify administrator, click on Settings, and after that click on Shipping.
- Click on Edit by the zone where you need to offer free shipping.
- In the Price based rates segment, click Add rate.
- In the Add cost based rate exchange, enter a Name for the shipping rate, and then enter the minimum and maximum value of the order.
- Check the free shipping rate.
- When you have completed the above steps, click done.
After you include a free shipping choice, eligible clients between the said order values will be able to checkout with Free Shipping.
How to offer free shipping over a set weight
To offer free shipping for orders over a set weight, please follow these steps:
- From your Shopify administrator, click on Settings, and after that click on Shipping.
- Click on Edit alongside the zone where you need to offer free shipping.
- In the Weight based rates segment, click Add date.
- On the Add weight based rate section, enter a Name for the shipping rate, and then enter the minimum and maximum weight of the order.
- Check free shipping rate.
- When you have completed the above steps, click done
After you include a free shipping choice, eligible clients between the said order weights will be able to checkout with Free Shipping.
